With April 1 rapidly approaching, here’s a quick little iPhone app I put together:

Pocket Microwave. Amaze family, friends and co-workers with this incredible pocket-sized microwave app! Pocket Microwave simulates the look, feel and sounds of a real microwave oven, and features a bright, pulsing screen effect so that you can see that it is doing its job. The controls work just like a real microwave, and are matched with a digital timer display so that you (and more importantly, your dinner companions) can accurately gauge heating time. And, the “bing!” sound will let you know when it is done.

Use it in the coffee shop to warm up your latte, or at the family dinner table to give those veggies an extra zap. Or, impress your date by, well … you get the picture.

Note: of course this app does not give off microwave radiation of any kind, and so it will not really do any of the above heating related jobs. Perhaps, however, you can have some fun by persuading family, friends and co-workers that it does!
